Cloak Board 10F
The cloake board is used as a way to separate the main queen right hive (below) from the cell building area which is placed above. The slide is set fully in place when first creating the cell builder above the queen right part of the hive to reduce queen pheromones, creating a queenless environment or orphan hive. This queenless situation will cause the nurser bees, placed above the board with sealed brood, pollen and honey, to raise queen cells from the grafted cups installed 12 to 24 hours later. During the cycle of cell building, the slide is removed to allow interaction with both sections of the hive, creating a good queen cell building unit. Fully assembled.
